Advanced Fall Protection for Leadership

BACK TO NEWS

On December 9th – 13th we will be hosting our Advanced Fall Protection for Leadership course and we hope you’ll join us.

Suitable for all leaders including supervisors, instructors, safety professionals & management who direct and implement a fall protection program in their work place.

Explained from the workers point of view, this course is an in-depth practical analysis of using fall protection equipment, properly, safely & efficiently. It is more than a “safety course” and will go beyond reciting regulations and explore real world effective solutions for working at height.

This 5-day intensive hands on problem-solving program meets and exceeds the Workplace-NL requirements for fall protection training. Small student instructor ratio will allow for class discussion and participation in a wide range of practical exercises. Strong emphasis will be placed on proper equipment selection, use, and fall protection planning.

An essential component of leadership is the ability to mentor and instruct. Requiring participants to verbally explain various components of work at height and how each is linked to each other is valuable in assessing competency. Throughout this course, instructional techniques will be discussed and students will have the opportunity to demonstrate skills learned in the program.

Our focus during this program is on understanding. The goal of leadership is to educate and help co-workers understand. Students in this program need not only to show how something is done but also explain why it is done in a particular way as part of the competency assessment process. So, a portion of this workshop will be reviewing a variety of strategies we can use to help adults understand.  This will also help prepare those who are choosing to instruct training in their organizations.

The potential efficiencies uncovered during this week of training will provide our participants with significant value in their roles.

Space is limited as class size is kept small.  You may also qualify for tuition assistance through the Canada-NL Job Grant Funding Program.  For more information on this funding opportunity, eligibility requirements and to apply, please visit the following link: https://www.aesl.gov.nl.ca/foremployers/canada_nl_job_grant.html
